Put a memory card in samsund d5500i says card is inserted but on trying to transfer says not allowed

phone origanally on orange. Had it unlocked to t-mobile. Havent got instruction manual. Tried in another d500 and same thing is happening. Wondering could it be a setting in phone. Tried the obvious. Grateful for any suggestions

Sounds like it needs to be formatted, I assume we are talking about a memory card and not sim card You probably have no memory on your phone thats why you cant transfer
