Parents wont let me get a cell phone with my own money!! HELP!!?!?!??!?!?

i asked my parents to let me buy a cell phone and service and everything with my own money! still won%26#39;t let me! it%26#39;s crazy! i get all A%26#39;s and help around the house CONSTANTLY, im respectful and ALL that stuff, but still no phone. my mom is really old fashioned and says that I dont need one because i dont even get calls on my house phone now! i tried to explain to her that these days i cell phone is a tool to surf the internet with and play games and IM people with! still im not allowed to get one. the whole using it for emergencies won%26#39;t work because I never go anywhere without my parents since they are sooo over protective! omg, i know this sounds weird, but how do i convince my parents to let me buy a cell phone with my own money? or possibly get them to pay for it? HELP ME PLEASE!! by the way I%26#39;m goingt into 7th grade and I%26#39;m 12 years old! thanx, bye

well first of all keeping up with a cell phone bill is very hard work ! u have to have discipline, also telling ur parents you will use the phone to surf the web and play games is all wrong - THAT IS NOT the purpose of a cell phone. and thats why they wont let you have one, you dont even know what its for. third... turn to the news and watch it with dear old mummy and daddy ! wait for " and to night on channel 13 news a 12 year old girl was raped." And then you say wow, she probably would have gotten away if she had a cell phone. or. "and coming up next a school bus flipped over today many studentS used their cellphones to call police and parents" Do You Get My Drift ? they cant protect you forever, but they WILL try. think about columbine.. their school got shot up, and the ones with cell phones called the police. understand ? hope you have a phone by the end of the week girly ;) ? Oh my good! my mom is exactly the same way!
