Should i depend on other places other then cell phone companies supplies to get what i need?

So much as in getting online getting stuff that cell phones dealers dont have or make from average provider?

i have found vodafone is good for upgrades by customer loyality and they also pricematch and better it, also their phones are unlocked and any sim card works in the phones
