PUK blocked?? Is there any?

i put the lock on my phone ON and i tried to change the pin number (4 didgit code) soooo im thinking if theres already one it most of been me that put it in so i tried all sorts of numbers and it said pin blocked so i thought whatever and turned off the lock on my phone. I turn off my phone then on again and it said enter pin and im like frig and tried again. till my 8 chances where up then it said PIN blocked enter PUK number and im like huh (4 oclock in the morning ) i tried that for my 8 tries now it says PUK blocked contact services provider . I have been looking around everyone says the way to go is to buy a new card... Will the give me on free ??(a chance of that?) also shouldnt there be a number you can call using the SOS service to unlock your SIM from there?? Instead of KILLING the sim card?

Answers:

Your provider may or may not give you a new sim for free. You SHOULD have called your service provider from a land line phone to get the PUK code instead of trying to guess it. More than likely, you%26#39;ll have to actually buy the new sim card. SOS is for emergency(911) calls only. There%26#39;s no way to use it to unblock your sim card.

EDIT: The second answerer is wrong. Once it shows PUK blocked, it cannot be unblocked. You have to get a new sim card. Your pictures and videos shouldn%26#39;t be lost, since they are not stored to the sim card. You may lose whatever text messages you have received, since most phones save those to the sim card. LOL!! I did the same thing. What happens is if you try the wrong PIN a lot of times they lock the sim because it could be stolen. THEN you have to call your service provider to get the PUK number. They will give it to you easy, no problem. Now since you have locked that you still need to call the customer care number of your service provider so that they can telll you what numbers to enter so that you can reset your phone to default settings. You do not need a new card. And even if you did it would NOT be free. No doubt about it, Jus contact the service provider and everything will be fine! :) The sim card is dead when this message comes on. You will need a new sim.

I worked for a cell company and they dont usually give u a free sim card in this case cause it says on the phone manual that if the phone asks for a puk code, call your servce provider. BUT, if you really really want a free sim card, call them and say your phone displays sos calls only and that it never asked for a PUK code, they will ask if someone else used the phone, say no, the phone was powered off. they will then send u to a store to get a new sim.

Sim cards cost almost nothing to the companies...

Good luck!
