Ring tone assignment.?

I have a cingular att cell phone. V557 Motorola. I would like to assign ringtones but it wont allow me to assign ringtones for number stored in SIM. Where else do I store it? How do i change where it is stored.

You have 2 ways of saving your contacts. To the phone and to the sim. When you go through your contacts, you will see a little icon either of a sim card(a little square) or of a phone. Thats what tells u where it is stored to. You can go to one of your contacts and select it, then u press options or edit. you will see an option. Saved to SIM (or phone), select it and edit to change to phone(or sim). Then u can assign the ringtones...

If u save the same contact to the phone and to the sim, you will have every contact displayed 2X on your phone...
